Carnival Cozumel 2013 – Activities For February 8, 2013 featured at LetsGoPDC

Cozumel Carnival (pronounced Carnaval in Spanish) is one of the islands main events. It happens at the peak of high season when the weather is at its finest. Festivities attract thousands of people from all corners of the world. It starts the week before Fat Tuesday, or Mardi-Gras. Carnival 2013 is a great excuse to really ring in the new year!

Cozumel Carnival 2013 promises to be as spectacular as ever! With our new streets, pedestrian walkways, downtown landscaping, and improvements all over the island; visitors were greeted in “tropicool” style!

Friday February 8th –

  • Kid and pets in costumes contest
    Place: Moby Dick
    Time: 10:00 AM
    Advance tickets required.
  • Comparsa Dance Contests
    First free activity
    Locatons: Quintana Roo Park & Benito Juarez Park
    Time: 9:00 PM
    Dancing, Drinking, and Eating
  • Carnival ballet presentation
    Advance tickets required.
    Time: 10:00 PM
  • High School and Adult Dance contest
    Time: 10:30 PM
  • Introduction of Carnival with host Sr. Fernando Ferraez
  • 9:00pm – Music, General Access & Seating Begins
  • 10:30pm – Car naval Ballet and Intro to Car naval 2013
  • 10:50pm – Show of the Emperors
  • 11:10pm – Young Adults Dance Group Competition
  • 12:10pm – Open Category Dance Competition
  • 2:30am – Judges Decide on Open Floor Dancing
